ratings

I've become intrigued with how descriptive movie ratings have become. It's nice that they've become that why but some of them make me wonder...

1. Charly and the Chocolate Factory
-Rated PG for quirky situations, action and mild language.
2. Lord of the Rings
-
Rated PG-13 for intense epic battle sequences and frightening images.
3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
-
Rated PG-13 for sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images.
4. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
-
Rated PG for sci-fi action violence throughout, brief language and momentary smoking.
5. Shrek the Third
-
Rated PG for some crude humor, suggestive content and swashbuckling action.

I'm glad to know that if I'm against swashbuckling action or quirky situations, I can find out from the movie's rating.

woodshop

I'm a woodturner. One thing really bugs me about achieving this status is how I must follow all the rules of the wood shop. I know rules are protection. But one rule has been irritating me as bad as if I combed my hair with a part on the wrong side.

The Rule: No jewelery.

I don't have a problem following the rule. I just hate how it feels when I do it. I hate taking my wedding ring off and putting it in my pocket. Hate it. That's a symbol of my eternal marriage to Lisa! I don't want to stuff it in some dark pocket to lie with lint as if it doesn't matter to me. I love my wedding ring. I love Lisa! I want to always be able to see it. I love every reminder of August 15, 2008 and of Lisa. I do not want to go around and hide these reminders. Even if my finger gets cut off, that will be a reminder too!
P.S. I'm not a real woodturner - a padawan perhaps but not a real one.
P.P.S. My ring is different and much cooler than the picture.
